We are a non profit making organisation, set up to
promote the development and use of plug-in hybrid and
electric vehicles. Our chief executive is Chris Prior.
We aim to bring together all stakeholders - the public,
vehicle manufacturers, government, electricity
generators and charging infrastructure suppliers - to
facilitate the take up plug-in vehicles.
We believe that for environmental and security reasons,
Britain must move away from vehicles solely powered by
an internal combustion engine.
The time has come for change and the technology is
here. What is needed is the will to act. Consumers must
demand the new vehicles, manufacturers must produce them
and government must provide both with encouragement.
Our aim is
to kick start this process by:
raising public awareness and
lobbying for the use of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. We also
support the use of hybrid vehicles as a stepping stone
to full plug-in hybrids;
supporting
the development of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle
technology;
ensuring that preparations are made to support the
adoption of plug-in vehicles, in particular the
provision of on street charging points. |
